Meet The Team

  • Who are they?
  • What do they do?
  • Where are they?
  • When are they doing it?

Ginno Conti

Ginno

I’m Ginno, breakfast presenter at MFR. It’s my third year now on MFR Bikesafe and it’s funny as at this stage I still consider myself very much a novice.

There’s just so much to learn as a biker and that’s ongoing. In the first year we did our CBT, sat our tests then did the NC Bikesafe course. We repeated this course last year too.

We’ll be doing more refreshers this year and I hope a bit more group riding with us now having a team of 5.

On a personal note I’m hoping to make my girl out on the back of the bike more to improve on this as I only got the chance to do this a couple of times last year.

Happy biking for 2010 and I’ll see you on the road!

Duncan Chisholm

Duncan Chisholm

Hi, Im Duncan Chisholm Sponsorship and Promotions Manager with MFR. I really can’t believe that we are now into another year and I have to be honest I can’t wait.

I have learned so much about biking and the perception of bikers, of which, half the perceptions are not true. The past couple of years have been a great experience with some highs and unfortunately lows too. I am really looking forward to the 2010 Bikesafe and introducing the new MFR Bikesafe babies to the team.

I hope that in 2010 we can get to more events and meet more folk from in and around the MFR area. So if you know of any events and would like the MFR team there, then let us know. The main thing for me in 2010, is that we all have fun but a safe season on the bikes. I hope to see you out there soon.

Neil McGregor

Neil McGregor

Hi!
My name is Neil McGregor and I’ve toyed with the idea of biking for most of my adult life.
The only reason I haven’t is negativity from “significant others”.

Having recently turned 40, I felt that the time was right to get the leathers on. However, as a car driver of 20+ years, I needed the confidence and skills that the CBT and Bike Safe will provide.

I hope to be able to become a competent biker as well as being able to enjoy the road from another perspective.

Nicola Cope

Nicola Cope

Hello, I’m Nicola, Traffic and Travel Reporter for MFR Lunchtime Live and Drivetime and I work for MFR Cash for Kids. I’m the baby of the MFR Bike Safe Team.
Right now I’m not sure I even qualify as a novice rider. Sitting my CBT was the first time I saw a motor bike up close, never mind actually ride one. If I’m honest I’m doing this because Dunc didn’t reckon I could. Basically I took the bait and look where it’s got me!

I’m not sure what to expect from Bike Safe right now but so far so good. I’m very nervous about the whole experience but I won’t let that stop me. Let’s face it, I can’t prove Dunc right, he’ll never let me live it down.
Bring on the challenge!

Safe biking and I hope to see you on the road soon (if I pass all my tests)! xx

Linda Sinclair

Linda Sinclair

I’m Linda, Broadcast Journalist here at MFR. This is my third year of Bike Safe and I can’t wait to get cracking!
Can’t believe how lucky I am, and neither can my friends and family, to get such an amazing opportunity – kitted out, taught how to ride and given a bike for a few months, what a ball it’s been, and will continue to be.

I’m really looking forward to giving group riding a go now we’ve got Nicola and Neil onboard – especially as Duncan and Ginno have treated me like the wee annoying sister in the past!

Quite keen also, to embrace taking a pillion, to share the biking experience with others, and pass on tips about it.

After embarking on a camping/biking road trip to Gairloch last summer I’m really up for doing more and letting you guys know how to go about it successfully, rather than tying various pieces of kit in bin bags to the bike, not fun when it comes down in buckets… Here we go!
